Shadow Wood Preserve is more than a place to live—it’s a place to connect. Discover the events, activities, and gatherings that bring neighbors together and make our community feel like home. The Shadow Wood Preserve Activities Committee plans and hosts social activities at the Pavilion throughout the year and especially during the Season. Residents and their guests are welcome to attend Activities Committee sponsored events.
Preserve Presentations
Residents and local experts share their knowledge with SWP residents in specially scheduled sessions during the Season. Topics have included health, travel, safety, food-tasting, careers, excursions, and more. Sometimes residents are the presenters!

Happy Hour
Come join your friends and make new ones at Pavilion Happy Hours. Participants bring an appetizer or dessert to share, plus their own beverage. Happy Hours are on the first Wednesday of the month from 5:30 to 7:00 PM during the Season.

Enjoy a night of friendly competition! Residents and their guests play a variety of games, such as Mexican Train and Hand & Foot. Suggestions for other games are always welcome. The group meets at the Pavilion from 6:30 to 8:30 PM on the second and fourth Wednesday of the month during the Season. BYOB. Walk-ins are welcome.

Coffee Café
Stop by the Pavilion for coffee, tea, and baked goods and chat awhile with your neighbors. This is the perfect place to be if you are new to our community. The café is open every Wednesday and Thursday morning from 9 to 11 AM during the Season. Drop in anytime.

Mah Jongg
American Mah Jongg is a variant of the popular Chinese game; it utilizes racks to hold each player's tiles. A Mah Jongg group plays Thursday afternoons from 1:00 to 3:30 PM in the Pavilion throughout the year. Tile sets are available; bring your own Mah Jongg card. All SWP residents are welcome. If you don’t know how to play, we’ll teach you (no card needed). Bring your own beverage.

Have a favorite book you'd like to discuss with your neighbors? The Book Club meets at the Pavilion from 3:00 to 4:30 PM on the first Wednesday of the month during the Season. You need not finish or even read the book to participate.

- Welcome Back Party: We start off the Season by welcoming back our snowbirds at the Pavilion with food from a special source.
- Holiday Event: What better way to start the holiday season than to have a party, perhaps a cookie exchange, caroling, or a themed afternoon.
- Swap Meet: Bring your unwanted household and other items the Pavilion. Return the next day and pick up anything you’d like. It’s all free!
- Arts and Crafts Show: Residents who enjoy painting, knitting, quilting, card making, glass, or other creative forms are encouraged to show their work at the Pavilion.
